Bringing the Protective Factors Framework to Life in Your Work

We have partnered with the The National Alliance of Children’s Trust and Prevention Funds (Alliance) to offer training to support the implementation of the Strengthening Families Protective Factors Framework in multiple settings. The curriculum content includes materials on partnering with parents and concrete examples of everyday actions that research has shown to be effective in strengthening families.

Core content includes:
- An Introduction to the Framework
- Seven courses, each about 2 hours in length
- Real life parent stories that document the power of building protective factors
- A list of resources, references and websites to support each course
- A wrap-up course that moves participants from knowledge to action

Stewards of Children

Stewards of Children is a nationally recognized child sexual abuse prevention training program for adults. The training covers facts about child sexual abuse, situations in which child sexual abuse might occur, strategies for protecting children, and signs of sexual abuse and how to respond. This program is for any adult, particularly parents and others working with youth.

Stewards of Children is approved for social work CEUs as well as 2 hours of continuing education for nurses.

Data in the Real World: Planning, Implementing, and Learning from Evaluation

This training is intentionally designed for program staff who are new to evaluation. In addition to a basic understanding, the training is for organizations about to engage in an internal outcome or program evaluation. Data in the Real World includes five modules:

1. What and Why?
2. Introduction to Logic Models
3. Planning Implementing and Learning from Evaluation
4. Managing and Understanding Your Outcome Data
5. Putting Data to Use

The training may be done as a whole or with empahasis on one or modules. At the completion of training participants will understand what evaluation is and is not, why we evaluate and where do we start.
