Programs

It is through the management of three programs that Prevent Child Abuse Iowa is connected to the important work taking place in Iowa communities across the state.

Prevent Child Abuse Iowa receives state and federal funding to oversee the following programs:

  • Iowa Child Abuse Prevention Program;
  • Community Based Child Abuse Prevention program; and
  • AmeriCorps program

Although the programs vary slightly, each provides financial support to communities so Iowans can access resources, which reduce the likelihood of child abuse. Such services offer education to parents and assist families in building positive support systems.

Through a competitive grant application process, Prevent Child Abuse Iowa selects organizations as recipients of the funding to offer services in their respective communities. Prevent Child Abuse Iowa assists local organizations in establishing and sustaining services over time through on-going training and technical assistance.
