Parent Services

Local community organizations provide services to parents, which primarily focus on education and building positive support systems. If you’d like to learn more about the services available near you, please call (800) CHILDREN.

Below are some examples of services funded by Prevent Child Abuse Iowa across the state.

Parent Education – Focuses on parenting techniques, child development, and age-appropriate behaviors while creating an informal, supportive network among attendees.

Family Support – Creates a forum to address stressors in the lives of families and increase their access to resources.

Young Parent Support – Concentrates on preparing young adults for parenting while creating an informal, supportive network with other young parents.

Respite Care – Provides parents an educational environment for their children while they receive temporary relief from care giving responsibilities before stress can become overwhelming.

Crisis Nursery – Offers parents a safe, nurturing environment for their children, from birth to 12 years-old, during times of emergency.
