The 2005 Pottery for Prevention fund raising event, benefiting Prevent Child Abuse Iowa, was held Friday, November 4 at the State Historical Building of Iowa in the East Village of downtown Des Moines. Iowa artists, local celebrities, children, and others will design one-of-a-kind pottery pieces. These unique artworks, combined with value-added enhancements such as gift certificates, services, and other goods, were sold at auction during “Pottery for Prevention” on the evening of November 4. In 2004 – the first for Prevent Child Abuse Iowa – raised more than $20,000 for Prevent Child Abuse Iowa operations and programs.
