2004 Pottery For Prevention
 2004
Pottery for Prevention, a first-time fundraising event to benefit Prevent
Child Abuse Iowa, was an artistic, financial, and social success. Nearly
150 people gathered at the Raccoon River Park Nature Lodge on Saturday,
November 13 for food, beverages, and silent and live art auctions featuring
pottery made by Iowa artists.
Much of the pottery
included value-added goods and services that enhanced the auction lots,
such as gift certificates to area restaurants, bottles of wine, Hawkeye
football tickets, and a pleasure flight on a private plane.
Pottery for Prevention
netted more than $20,000 for Prevent Child Abuse Iowa and doubled the
financial goals set by the committee for the first year.
