2009 Top 10 Fifth-Grade Pottery Finalists

This year Mr. Joel Franken at Jackson Elementary in Davenport initiated a wonderful project with his fifth-grade classes to support PCA Iowa's efforts in child abuse prevention. Sixty-eight fifth-graders made pottery that was entered into an art show at their school -- out of these, eleven art works were chosen. Those eleven works were shown at PCA Iowa's booth at the Des Moines Arts Festival, and the top three winners were chosen by popular vote. These artworks, accompanied by a short statement by each child on preventing child abuse, will be auctioned off at Pottery for Prevention to the highest bidder!
