It takes a community of engaged members working together to strengthen families from the start so that all children grow up to reach their potential. Join us in preventing child abuse in Iowa!

Volunteer opportunities:

Pinwheels for Prevention:
Pinwheels have become a national symbol of child abuse prevention, representing the joyful and carefree childhood everyone should have. Community members have used the pinwheels to raise awareness of the importance of supporting families through activities such as planting pinwheel gardens, giving pinwheels to childcare providers, or asking businesses to display pinwheels as a sign of support. Most of these efforts take place in April but can occur year-round. Learn more.

Outreach and Fundraising Committees:
Share your ideas, time and talents as we organize community awareness and fundraising events. If you’d like to get involved in one of these planning committees, e-mail Communications Director.

Local efforts:
Get involved in local efforts to bring attention to child abuse prevention and to support families in communities across Iowa. To find a child abuse prevention group in your area, e-mail Rachel Owens.

If you’re interested in future volunteer opportunities or have a special talent you’d like to share, please fill out this volunteer interest form and e-mail it to Communications Director.
