26th Annual Conference

“Partnering to Protect Children”

Prevent Child Abuse Iowa’s 26th annual conference was held May 7-8, 2007
at the Sheraton West Des Moines.

The theme of the 2007 conference addressed working in partnerships to protect children. Michael Winer, founder of 4Results Together, gave the opening keynote, “Creating Community Buy-In Through Effective Partnerships.” Winer has more than 25 years of national experience in working with a wide variety of organizations. He works with all organizations, partnerships, and communities that want to grow the resources they have into results they can achieve. Winer further discussed strategies for effective meetings and public awareness in two separate breakout workshops.

Greg Risberg, MSW and Certified Speaking Professional, reminded participants of their importance to Iowa’s children and families in his closing keynote address, “You Make a Difference.” Risberg has addressed over 500,000 people in 49 states and abroad. He is the author of two books, Touch: A Personal Workbook and the soon to be published 52 Ways To Fill your Life with Humor, Happiness and Hope.
