    The VISTA partners will work with Prevent Child Abuse Iowa and the Iowa Trauma Informed Prevention and Care coordinator to expand the current project beyond central Iowa. Two VISTA partners are requested to identify 2-4 communities ready to implement a response to Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). The project will require an assessment of community readiness, leading a selection process, engaging influencers, developing a plan, supporting implementation, and measuring success. VISTA members will work in over-lapping three-year periods in at least four Iowa communities (2 in years 1, 2, 3 and 2 additional in years 3, 4, 5) to build literacy, capacity, implementation, and sustainability of the project. Each community would be asked to mentor another Iowa community in the implementation of a Connections Matter community framework to further support the work and strengthen community connection. Vista partners will work with various IACC members as committee members and advisors to this project. Working with employees of the University of Iowa National Research Center for Family Practice needed trainings will be determined and provided.


    Childcare assistance if eligible, Education award upon successful completion of service, Health coverage, Living allowance, Non-competitive eligibility (federal jobs), Relocation allowance (if applicable), Stipend, Student loan forbearance 1) A living stipend paid out bi-monthly from the Corporation for National and Community Service totaling $11,300 over 12 calendar months. 2) Health care benefit through the Corporation for National and Community Service 3) Professional development and networking opportunities 4) Upon successful completion of the full term of service, the Member will receive an education award of $5,775 or $1,500 post-service stipend, from the National Service Trust. 5) If the Member has received forbearance on a qualified student loan during the term of service, and the Member successfully completes the term of service, the National Service Trust will repay a portion of the interest that accrued on the loan during the term of service according to hours served. 6) Child-care benefits are contingent on having a child under 13, meeting an income threshold, needing child-care assistance to complete the AmeriCorps term of service, and having a financial need to pay necessary child-care expenses.
