Community-Based Child Abuse Prevention Program |
With the support of the Iowa Commission on Volunteer Service (ICVS), Prevent Child Abuse Iowa has participated in the AmeriCorps program since the fall of 2007. Beginning July 2009, PCA Iowa will be managing two different projects.
AmeriCorps Partnering to Protect Children (CPPC Sites) Under PCA Iowa’s overall direction, this AmeriCorps project has placed twelve AmeriCorps members at Community Partnerships for Protecting Children sites serving 19 counties. This project is now in its third year.
The councils chosen are Black Hawk, Lucas, and Mills counties, the Carroll area, and Northeast Iowa (Allamakee, Howard, and Winneshiek Counties).
Here is a map showing the counties served by the two projects.
